Belgium, officially known as the Kingdom of Belgium, is a small yet highly influential country located in Western Europe. It is known for its rich history, diverse culture, political significance, and high standard of living.

Geography and Climate

Belgium covers an area of approximately 30,689 square kilometers (11,849 square miles), making it one of the smaller countries in Europe. It is bordered by the Netherlands to the north, Germany to the east, Luxembourg to the southeast, France to the south, and the North Sea to the northwest.

• Regions: Belgium is divided into three regions: Flanders in the north, Wallonia in the south, and the Brussels-Capital Region in the center.
• Terrain: The terrain is relatively flat in the coastal regions and the northern part of the country, with rolling hills and valleys in the central and southern areas. The Ardennes, a forested and hilly region in the southeast, is the most rugged part of Belgium.
